This watch is spectacular, especially for the price.
I bought the Dark Bayou EM for myself….and love it. So I bought a Blackstream F for my oldest son. Based on the materials, quality, style, value (the “Big 4” for under $275!!!) and function of these watches…I’ll buy one for each of my three sons when they are old enough to stop losing stuff! They will be my go-to for gifts in the future as well.

The mest bracelet did not fit my 6.5 wrist very well and Tim sent me a bracelet right away. Ended up picking up another mesh bracelet, because I like that style.

I had been lusting after one of these beautiful watches ever since I saw an ad for Monterey Watch Company while scrolling through social media. After an impatient few months, I finally pressed the trigger on one: The Dark Bayou EM, with a gold bezel insert. Goll-Y, it is one gorgeous design! Looking down at my wrist, I am mentally transported to a small sailboat in the Azores in 1966, with the warm sun kissing my face and a loose linen shirt loosely wrapped around my torso prior to my skin dive...
Looking past the design, you have an adventure watch, in 316l stainless, sapphire crystal, NH34/35 movement, ceramic bezel insert, and 100m of water resistance: all for under the price of $400! Not to mention, assembled in America, by a small business, which is my favorite part. My interactions with Tim, while minimal, and over social media (Instagram, mostly) and email, have been absolutely heartwarming and one of my favorite reasons to support small businesses.

I ordered the Black Bayou EM after a little research and vetting of Monterey Watches and have been very impressed so far.
The watch keeps great time, is beautifully assembled and built and looks impressive.
The only chink in the armor from my daily wear is the screw-in pins at the base of of the band - which seem to work themselves loose fairly routinely.
I fixed this problem with a dab of locktite and a small jewelry screwdriver.
