Our first fully-custom timepiece. 

When we started Monterey, the goal was to funnel all profit into, at some point, being able to fund our own completely custom timepiece. Thanks to our customers, it happened a LOT sooner than we expected. We expected it to take five years. It took 2 1/2.

So meet the Route 12. Designed from the ground up here in the shop. 

It's bigger. But not too big.

It's bolder. But not over the top.

It's functional. In every way.

You'll never need to take it off.

It's cool. Oh yes. It is seriously cool.

Releasing in late September, the Route 12 combines everything we love about timepieces with a focus on utility, style, aesthetic and functionality. It's named after the famous two-lane beach road that runs down (and up) coastal N. Carolina, connecting the towns and beaches where we grew up.

Inspired by the legendary Panerai Luminor, the Rte. 12 is a true beach-to-boardroom piece. The centerpiece is the dial, which is a cousin to our epic Blackstream dial but with enamel finish and larger indices along with our logo spelled out below the 12.

The "12" features: 

• 200M water resistance,
• Triple-applied C3 lume,
• 42mm case width (with crown guards)
• 14mm case height
• NH35A (Seiko) movement
• Double-domed sapphire crystal
• Anti-reflective matte black dial with our iconic "M" logo at 3
• Date window at 6
• Stick handset with arrow sweep and red arrow pip
• Bank vault case back with the Route 12 logo
• Screw-down crown with M logo
• Leather strap with white stitching
• Engraved buckle

A true t-shirt to tux timepiece. And our first foray into true "microbrand" status.

All pre-orders will also receive a Monterey Watch Co. hat. Each piece will also come with a signed COA. The first run will be 50 pieces.
