It's here. Time to scratch that Speedy itch.
The Omega Speedmaster, to us, is one of the the two greatest watch models ever made. This is how we honor the "Speedy."
Meet the Monterey Slipstream. Elegance and functionality at an eye-popping low price.
The Monterey Watch Co. Slipstream mechanical chronograph is a striking blend of classic design and exceptional value. Its 42mm in-house case design houses a reverse panda dial, with a rich black backdrop and crisp white sub-dials, offering a timeless aesthetic. Powered by the accurate and vaunted VK64 hybrid movement, this watch brings the heritage of precision watchmaking to your wrist. The chronograph feature ensures practical functionality for timing events, while the vintage-inspired dial includes bold Arabic numerals at the 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 o’clock positions.
Silver stick hands complement the sophisticated design, the watch comes with a padded black leather strap featuring contrasting white stitching for a refined, yet comfortable fit.
Watches with similar features and craftsmanship often retail for twice the price, making the Slipstream a remarkable value for collectors and enthusiasts alike who seek both style and substance in a mechanical chronograph.

I was getting ready to pull the trigger and buy my first exhorbitantly priced (for my budget) Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch when the stock market tanked last week. Dejected, I went online and reluctantly searched for alternatives and discovered (happily) the Monterey site. The Slipstream seemed to check all the boxes that I was looking for at a price which was 1/30th the cost of the Speedy. I called Monterey on a whim early Saturday morning and was quite surprised when Tim answered the call after 2 rings. His good-natured demeanor sold me on making the purchase along with an amazing promotional price. It is now Wednesday and the watch was just delivered perfectly in a gorgeous faux leather embossed box along with a handwritten thank you note from Tim, Charlie and a Mr.? Santos. How unexpected was that? The watch is a beautiful piece and I am "over the moon" (both literally and figuratively) that I went with Monterey. Although the included black strap with white stitching looks terrific and is great quality, I opted to replace it with a two-tone b&b one to match my vintage convertible. The quick release pins made swapping a breeze. Other than the watch's 24-hour dial having been set 12 hours off, I cannot say one negative thing about this entire purchase experience. I'm kind of new to watch collecting and am very anxious to read up on what is under the hood of this interesting movement. Next on my shopping list is the Route 12 to compliment my other car!
Best customer service of any watch company around. This is my 3rd watch from Monterey and they keep getting better.
The watch is very good for the price point. I think it could’ve had a little softer strap on it but I’m very happy with the watch. It’s very nice.
Super happy with the watch. It has a great wrist feel and as a person with a larger than average wrist it sits really well. Quality is right there and I get a ton of compliments on it daily. Wont be my last Monterey watch! Thanks Tim and co for being great!
The description states that it is a 42mm; however, it fits better and looks better than my two other 42mm watches do on my small-ish wrist. The strap feels great once it gets broken in and softens up and the white stitching is perfect for that vintage look (along with the old racing steering wheel on the back case). The "white" sub-dials are actually silver and give the face a classy, posh appearance. The watch has been super accurate - gotta love the Seiko movements that Tim and Charlie select for their pieces. Overall, I love this watch enough that I have bought one for my son-in-law who is just starting to get into watch collecting. It is truly a great quality watch at an incredible price. The only downside is that it might tempt you into buying a mid-70s Italian convertible to drive around when you wear it.
