Whether you're crossing time zones or just keeping an eye on the time back home, the EBC GMT Pro makes tracking a second time zone easy. It's a capable 200M GMT with a clean, legible dial, a high-beat automatic movement, and two colorways that each bring something different to the table.
Ready for Wherever
The EBC GMT Pro comes in black or white, with distinct bezel and lume combinations for each. The black dial pairs a red GMT hand with a steel bezel featuring Monterey's "M" marker. The white dial gets an orange GMT hand and a black ceramic bezel with luminous markers. Both feature oversized applied indices, sword hands, a date window at 3, and a curved sapphire crystal to keep things clear.
At 42mm, with a 48mm lug-to-lug measurement, it has a solid wrist presence without feeling oversized. The 316L stainless steel bracelet keeps the look classic, while the engraved compass-rose caseback adds a little Monterey character.
A Different Kind of Automatic
Inside is the Peacock SL3032 GMT, a high-beat automatic movement running at 28,800 beats per hour. It handles the dual-time display while bringing a little extra mechanical interest to the package.

I received the watch today. Despite the frustrating ordering/shipping/tracking experience it arrived quickly once it was actually sent. I will update this again when I have some time with it to see how much it drifts. First impressions are it looks good and clean. Case back looks great as well. Functionally, the crown has a gritty feeling, sticks a little and doesn't provide good feedback when slotting into position; it was difficult to get it to the position to set the GMT and date. I noticed also that the hands do not line up great - the GMT hand was not on the actual hour until 12m past, and the hour hand didn't line up until about 7m past the hour. The lume is good, I like the contrasting colors, but it could be a little brighter.
On to the bracelet. They send a card with video instructions on how to size the watch, showing the standard directional pins and how to push them out. However, the watch uses the pin and collar setup, not directional. The finish on the bracelet is done nicely, but the clasp itself is mediocre; sometimes fails to connect or doesn't want to fully engage. The links themselves I would prefer a little heftier to reduct the rattle and flex, but it's quite functional.
After multiple updates to "shipping" info, never being able to track, and confirmation from the team at Monterey that my watch never shipped and they didn't even have one in stock, I've been asked to review the watch.
For a $500 purchase, this is unacceptable. I haven't received it, I haven't received a tracking number that actually loads. I have no faith that the company knows where this product is and if they've actually sent it, or intend to. Purchasing from Monterey has been a poor experience.
EDIT: I received a tracking number yesterday and it's expected Friday. Still a poor experience IRT purchasing, but I will update this when I receive the watch.
When you put that EBC on your wrist, it not only feels and looks great, it gives you the satisfaction of wearing something of true quality for a very good price point. Monterey is blowing away the competition at this level and will continue to do so with their strong commitment to excellence and incredible customer service.
I love the colors and the band..the lume is great ...love it...their customer service is amazing..if you want a great watch thats different at a great price monteray is the place ...thanks guys
Hello - thanks for inquiring. This is my second Monterey Watch I have purchased. There are a few things I am a little disappointed with on this watch. The bracelet seems very sharp on the edges as well as the clasp. The Lume is very bright (which is not a “bad” thing) however I find myself going back and forth looking at the indices which are always bright yellow and just seem to have too much of a significant contrast with the white dial (again when the lume is just in standard light) I am not sure the photos online looked this way. I have various strong Lume Swiss watches (Oris, Tag, Tudor, Mido, Certina)…as well as Seikos , Citizens etc. even my Vaer doesn’t shine that bright in normal light. Hope to get some feedback and looking forward to it.
Absolutely love my EBC GMT Pro from Monterey Watch Co. The quality and finishing are exceptional, especially at this price point. The ETA-based high-beat movement has been fantastic, the bracelet is extremely well made and comfortable, and the entire watch has a solid, premium feel on the wrist. The overall attention to detail really stands out. Monterey Watch Co. really knocked it out of the park with the EBC GMT Pro. Couldn’t be happier with it!
