From Small-Batch Passion to Higher-Volume Capability

When we started Monterey Watch Co. in our condo in Northern Virginia in 2022, we had no idea what we were in for. Little did we know that our hobby business was about to become...NOT a hobby business. What we were selling in a month quickly became what we were selling in a week. Then what we sold in a week became what we sold in a day...you get it.

Eventually we simply couldn't meet the demand without sacrificing quality or making our customers wait for weeks. 

We knew we had to evolve.

Concurrent to our relocation to North Carolina in May of 2023, we transitioned our manufacturing from our home to trusted partners in Asia, where over 95% of non-Swiss watch manufacturing takes place. This was a critical step in building our higher-volume capability. We spent months vetting different factories to find partners who shared our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. We needed to be absolutely sure they could deliver the same level of excellence our customers had come to expect.

Today, we are proud to say we found a handful of partners we can fully trust. This transition has allowed us to increase production and significantly reduce shipping times, all while maintaining the high standards you deserve. Our small company has now sold over 4,000 timepieces, and the gratitude we feel for every single order is immense.
